About the role At Yokogawa, we believe that strong legal partnership enables sustainable, responsible growth. As Legal Counsel (m/f/d) , you act as a trusted advisor to the business — combining legal expertise with commercial insight across the European region. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making while enabling the business to move forward with confidence. Your responsibilities Handle customer and supplier claims across a wide range of commercial contexts Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements (distribution, supply, purchasing, licensing, services, employment, and loan agreements) Develop, review, and implement standard terms and conditions Prepare and support corporate documentation (governance materials, board and shareholder meetings, resolutions) Act as legal project manager in complex, cross-border contract negotiations Advise internal stakeholders on contractual interpretation and risk exposure Support customers and suppliers on contractual matters where required Advise senior management on disputes, litigation risks, and resolution strategies Conduct internal investigations related to legal or compliance topics Manage and support legal proceedings (plaintiff and defendant side) Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments impacting the business Translate legal developments into practical compliance actions and policies Contribute to and enhance compliance frameworks and internal policies Stay current with legal developments through continuous learning Optionally mentor or guide junior legal colleagues What you bring You are a pragmatic, business-oriented legal professional who operates confidently at senior stakeholder level. Fully qualified lawyer with substantial professional experience (in-house and/or law firm) Strong generalist legal background (commercial, corporate, employment, IP; M&A experience is a plus) Experience with cross-border legal matters in a B2B environment Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior management Strong understanding of business interfaces (finance, tax, HR, insurance, IP) Solid risk assessment skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to build trust across all levels of an international organization Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) Additional European language skills are a plus What we offer At Yokogawa, you will find more than a role — you will find purpose, trust, and room to grow.
